Pack the Cruiser

Saturday July 1st, the Fishers Police Department and Kroger stores teamed up to collect food donations.
This year's Pack the Cruiser event in Fishers collected over 23,000 pounds of food and $4,000 in donations for the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank's Hamilton Southeastern Summer Lunch Program. This program allows children in the area to have a reliable food source over the summer months.

Thank you to the shoppers at the Fishers Kroger locations who were so generous with their donations. Their purchases were placed in police cruisers parked on site. Volunteers from the FPD Citizens Academy Alumni Association, the Teen Explorers, and the Harvest Food Bank handed out informational flyers, accepted donations and helped load trucks taking the donations to the Food Bank's sorting and distribution area.

Before the event, Kroger had already donated $4000 to the summer lunch program, plus an additional $1,500 in food among the three Kroger drop-off locations.
